Niccolò Machiavelli, who was born in 1469 and died in 1527, was an Italian political philosopher who was a central figure in politics back in his day. The reason our group believes this man is a good representation of the Nun’s Priest is because of some of the famous quotes from his book The Prince, “There is no other way to guard yourself against flattery than by making men understand that telling you the truth will not offend you.” It suggests that one has to be able to accept criticism with an open mind to grow more instead of receiving false praises.
